How To Do More With Less: Makeup Edition

My makeup routine is constantly evolving I feel like. It changes sometimes with the day (depending on plans), with the season, or with the condition of my skin. For me personally, my goal is always to “do more” with less; with the emphasis being on minimal products & less time.

Makeup goals:

  • Natural
  • Conceal any darkness (always the dark circles)
  • Even out my skin
  • Bring color back to my complexion
  • Utilize multi-tasking products
  • Rock a “no makeup, makeup” look

My current makeup routine:

After my skin has been prepped (face washed, vitamin c serum, moisturizer), I apply my facial SPF. I am currently using and loving the Trader Joe’s Daily Facial Mineral SPF 40. It doesn’t leave a white cast, feels super silky on the skin & has zero fragrance (hard to find with SPF!!). Then my routine is as follows:

  • Use a pea-sized amount of the SPF mentioned above mixed with the Uncommon Beauty Bronzing Drops (Kristin Cavallari’s skincare brand, Uncommon Beauty- Laguna Beach anyone?!). I don’t use foundation, so therefore I utilize a second dose of SPF to mix with the bronzing drops. I love them because they don’t look orange or patchy and the formula contains glycerin to soften/hydrate the skin.
  • Apply the Saie Under Eye Brightener (which now I am unsure if they make this anymore! I can’t find it anywhere to link). I guess I will be finding something else to replace this once I use it up. The goal with the product though is to conceal and brighten at the same time. It has more of a highlighter/brightener “shade”, so I will put this on my under eyes, down the bridge of my nose and a little bit on my eyelids.
  • Next I use the Saie Dew Blush in Spicy. I apply this like a bronzer; across my forehead, across my cheeks and over my nose.
  • If I need a little more color, I will apply the Haus Labs Glassy Blush Balm Stick in Glassy Pitaya. The color itself looks crazy (I got this as a freebie when I purchased a powder blush- only having a couple shades to choose from), but luckily I LOVED it. Once I rub it in, the shade looks like I am naturally flushed, which meets several of my goals.
  • Mascara is optional these days IMO, so I will either skip this step, or apply it real quick depending on what the day holds. Otherwise THAT IS IT!

Quick, easy, & effortless.

What makeup products are you loving these days?! Leave a comment; I’d love to know!
