I truly believe that less is more. Let’s embrace our natural beauty, mamas! Summer is the perfect season to simplify your makeup routine and lean into a fresh, effortless look. The best part? You only need a handful of products—and chances are, you already have them in your makeup bag.
For this look, you’ll want a tinted SPF or moisturizer (although you can skip the tinted product—I often do), a concealer, and either a cream or powder blush. Mascara and a lip product are completely optional. You can totally achieve this look with as few as two products if that’s your style.
The secret to a “less is more” makeup routine is finding multitasking products that do it all. With just a few simple steps, you can rock a fresh-faced summer look & feel put together for whatever the day brings.
My everyday go-to products for an effortless look

–EltaMD UV Clear Tinted SPF: I love this for evening out my skin tone.
–Merit ‘The Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Stick’: I specifically use this to cover-up my dark circles (hello early mornings!!) & will also use this to cover blemishes as needed.
–Haus Labs Color Fuse Blush in shade ‘Fire Moon’: I am obsessed with this product. It is a powder blush that I use for bronzing. I apply this on the tops of my forehead where I would naturally tan, across my nose, tops of my cheekbones & on my eyelids.
–Jones Road Miracle Balm in shade ‘Cheeky’: This is a newer product in my makeup bag, but I am currently loving it so far! It is that perfect ‘just worked out’ shade. It is a balm, so it definitely gives a healthy glow to your skin, but isn’t overboard or oily. I will rub this between my index fingers and then apply to my cheeks on top of the product mentioned above. This is also such a pretty shade by itself and on the lips!
– Tower 28 MakeWaves Mascara in the shade “Drift“: Mascara feels optional these days, and I love both looks. This is my all-time favorite mascara because it enhances my eyes while still looking natural. It never clumps, and the brown shade is perfect for an everyday look.
–Versed Smoothing Lip Blush in the shade ‘Reserve‘: This is one of the newer additions to my makeup bag as well, and I love it. It truly lives up to its name—it gives the lips a flushed look rather than a glossy or balmy finish. It feels weightless as if there’s nothing on your lips. It almost performs like a lip stain, but feels more moisturizing than most, in my opinion. It adds life and color to my lips without looking obvious—most people probably wouldn’t realize I’m wearing anything at all.
I’m late but want to look alive in 60 seconds…

You can simplify the above routine even further for a super quick makeup look before you have to run out the door.
Don’t worry about applying a tinted moisturizer at this stage (assuming you’ve already applied your daily SPF, of course!). You can jump straight into the routine with a bit of concealer under the eyes, then give your lashes a good curl with an eyelash curler. Next, apply either bronzer or blush to the high points of the forehead, across the bridge of the nose, on the eyelids, and along the tops of the cheekbones to bring some life back to your skin. This is when I would reach for either my Haus Labs blush or Jones Road Miracle Balm—just pick one!
Lip color is optional, and so is mascara. If I needed to look fresh-faced in 60 seconds, I’d skip both and let the cream blush or bronzer do its thing. With just two products, you’ll be out the door and rocking that effortless, fresh-faced summer look!
